Parking
There is limited parking available at the museum so if you are attending one of our events there, we would recommend that you use our free Park and Ride bus service from Dewsbury. These run frequently to and from the museum between 10am and 4pm on event days. Timetables will be published on our website and Facebook page a week or so before each event.
We have two bus stops in Dewsbury. The one on Longcauseway, outside Costa Coffee, is convenient for those arriving at the bus station. The other is on the Ring Road, opposite the railway station, just before the Wellington Road flyover. This stop is ideal for visitors arriving by train or those using the two Kirklees council car parks there. The Wellington Road Station car park (right in front of the station) can accommodate 250 cars and the Wellington Road West one (right next to the bus stop) has space for a further 43. Both offer free parking on Sundays.
See the map below which shows the locations of the car parks and the bus stops.

Accessibility
Please note that vehicles providing these services are likely to be very old and therefore built well before the needs of people with reduced mobility were recognised and so will not be Dptac or PSVAR compliant. There are local bus services from Dewsbury Bus Station that run along Huddersfield Road to North Road using accessible vehicles. The journey time is about 10 minutes. Details of these services can be found at www.wymetro.com
If you cannot use use our bus service and require blue badge parking at the museum, please contact us in advance to secure a parking space by the museum.
